Features
The Heliar 40mm F2.8 lens is designed especially to work with the VM-E Close Focus Adapter. The lens itself does not have a helicoid and focusing is performed by rotating the close focus adapter’s helicoid ring. A mechanical feature of the lens is that it can be twisted to unlock and collapse into the body to reduce its length for carrying or storage.
This product was discontinued in November 2021.
Main Features
This lens pursues image quality with a modern optical design optimized for E-mount bodies.
Its traditional optical configuration with 5 elements in 3 groups is a modified triplet reconstructed using the latest optical technology. The lens design, which was developed based on a masterpiece lens, produces very pleasing and delicate images that are not overly strong.
A nickel coated straight type hood and a black dome type hood are included. You can choose which hood to use according to how you will use the lens and how you feel.
Using the VM-E Close Focus Adapter, this lens can focus as close as 0.5m.
37mm filters can be used without the need for a special adapter. You can enjoy capturing images using various filters.
The lens has a generous imaging circle that covers the 35 mm full frame format and is extremely compact compared to interchangeable lenses for single-lens reflex cameras.
