SEPTON 40mm F2 Aspherical
Features
A compact high-performance standard lens perfectly matched to mirrorless cameras. Its seven-element Orthometer optical design, achieves an aperture of F2. With a total length of just 30mm from the mount surface, its compact size is complemented by a 40mm angle of view suitable for use as a standard lens, also functioning effectively as a wide-angle lens.
Main Features
For Sony E-mount
The lens has electronic contacts to ensure that lens usage data is included in the Exif data of captured images. Furthermore, the built-in distance encoder enables support for 5-axis image stabilization on the body side. Other features include being able to magnify the finder display by operating the focus ring.
Optimized optical design
Provides an imaging circle that covers the 35 mm full frame format and utilizes an optical design optimized for Sony E-mount sensors. High resolution is maintained up to the image periphery and color shifts are well controlled.
Compact design with a total length of 30mm
With a total length of just 30mm from the lens mount, it is compact, making it easy to carry. Its 40mm focal length, which can also be used as a wide-angle lens, is well-suited for everyday use.
Manual focus for reliable focusing
Employs a very precisely machined and adjusted all metal helicoid unit lubricated with high quality grease to realize smooth focusing operation with just the right amount of torque. This enables very precise focusing.
Dome-shaped metal screw-on hood is included.
This dome-shaped metal screw-on hood is included without compromising the lens's compactness. The hood's outer circumference features a φ52mm thread, allowing the front cap to be used interchangeably whether the hood is fitted or not.
