PORTRAIT HELIAR 75mm F1.8
Features
PORTRAIT HELIAR 75mm F1.8 RF-mount is a large-aperture medium telephoto lens designed for full-frame mirrorless cameras utilising the Canon RF-mount. Focusing on the relationship between spherical aberration and bokeh, it enables control over both over-correction and under-correction states, thereby producing a diverse range of bokeh expressions.

Main Features
Designed exclusively for the Canon RF-mount
RF-mount optics are optimized for the image sensors of mirrorless cameras with the Canon RF-mount. The lens has a full-frame image circle and can be used with both full-frame and APS-C size mirrorless cameras.
Controlling Spherical Aberration
Features a new control ring mechanism to increase or decrease spherical aberration correction. Images with excessive correction retain sharp focus points, while the background blur becomes rigid and bubble-like. Conversely, images with insufficient correction exhibit soft focus on the subject, accompanied by flare in highlight areas. The background blur takes on a smooth rendering, yielding bokeh characteristics with unprecedented variation.
Information communication with the body by electronic contacts
The lens is equipped with electronic contacts and realizes communications between the lens and the body. In addition to Exif information and in-body image stabilization (3-axis) *1, three types of focus support functions (magnification, peaking, and focus guide *2) are all supported.(Note: The function may not operate if the control ring is turned to an extreme position.)
Manual focus for reliable focus operation
Adopting a full-metal helicoid unit processed and adjusted with high precision and high-quality grease that produces an appropriate torque, focusing with a smooth operation feeling is realized. It enables fine focus adjustment.
9-blade aperture diaphragm for beautiful bokeh
The aperture diaphragm is configured with 9 aperture blades to make the aperture opening as circular as possible. Point light sources have well-rounded out-of-focus areas.
*1 Only effective on bodies equipped with in-body image stabilisation.
*2 Excluding the EOS RP.

Lens diagram
*A Turning the spherical aberration control ring changes the aberration and the focus position, so check focus after adjusting spherical aberration.
*B Turning the spherical aberration control ring changes the f-stop (within 1/3 EV), so check exposure after adjusting spherical aberration.
*C Turning the spherical aberration control ring to the under side will reduce the peripheral light intensity. Adjust the correction amount or retouch the image after shooting.
