Three out of 7 elements in 5 group use atypical partial dispersion glass to ensure high image quality, and no aspherical lenses are used to optimize the balance between bokeh and resolution by retaining a moderate amount of spherical aberration.
Main Features
The compact style
The simple construction allows all the elements to move in tandem, resulting in an overall length of only 54.1mm, which is as compact for a 75mm focal length lens.
This lens is also highly portable and suppresses vignetting in the frame when used on a rangefinder camera.
Two types of lens coatings to choose from
The lens is available in two coatings: multi (MC) and single (SC). The barrel finish is either matte black paint for a modern look for the MC or a black paint finish for more classical tastes.
Minimum focus distance of 0.5 meters
The lens focuses beyond the minimum rangefinder-coupled focus distance of 0.7m all to as close as 0.5m. This feature is especially useful when using the lens on a camera with a live view function.
Dedicated Hood included.
All models include a metal screw-in hood and metal hood cap to match its finish. The hood and cap are made specifically for the lens barrel in its design and light-shielding performance.
Manual focus for reliable focusing
Employs a very precisely machined and adjusted all metal helicoid unit lubricated with high quality grease to realize smooth focusing with just the right amount of torque. This enables very precise focusing.
Installed with a focus-coupling system
The high-precision rangefinder coupling mechanism enables precise manual focusing which is especially useful in focus critical situations such as when shooting at or wide open or maximum apertures.
Imaging circle that covers full frame format
The lens features a generous imaging circle that covers the 35 mm full frame format. Furthermore, its size is extremely compact when compared to lenses for SLR cameras.
