NOKTON 35mm F1.2 Aspherical SE

Perfect balance of large maximum aperture and portability

Features

Based on the design concept of a lens dedicated to still photography, this lens realizes both compact size and a large maximum aperture. Its optical formula optimized for the imaging sensors of Sony mirrorless cameras features two elements with aspherical surfaces on both sides. As well as providing confidence-inspiring performance from maximum aperture, the lens allows you to enjoy smooth very blurred bokeh.

Main Features

For Sony E-mount

The lens has electronic contacts to ensure that lens usage data is included in the Exif data of captured images. Furthermore, the built-in distance encoder enables support for 5-axis image stabilization on the body side. Other features include being able to magnify the finder display by operating the focus ring.

Simple and compact

Dedicated to still photography, this lens was designed without an aperture click-stop switching mechanism so valued in serious videography to realize its large maximum aperture and compact form. Simple and precise parallel knurling is employed on the lens barrel surface.

Optimized optical design

Provides an imaging circle that covers the 35 mm full frame format and utilizes an optical design optimized for Sony E-mount sensors. High resolution is maintained up to the image periphery and color shifts are well controlled.

Outstanding optical performance, 4 aspherical surfaces utilized

With a 9 element optical configuration featuring 2 elements with aspherical surfaces on both sides, this lens achieves both a high image quality standard and a large maximum aperture.

12-blade aperture diaphragm for beautiful bokeh

The aperture diaphragm is configured with 12 blades to make the aperture opening as circular as possible. This means the out-of-focus areas of images are drawn naturally and point light sources etc. are drawn as soft round bokeh rather than as polygonal shapes.

Manual focus for reliable focusing

Employs a very precisely machined and adjusted all metal helicoid unit lubricated with high quality grease to realize smooth focusing operation with just the right amount of torque. This enables very precise focusing.
