NOKTON 50mm F1 Aspherical

Ultra-fast lens with GA (ground aspherical) element

Features

The NOKTON 50mm F1 Aspherical is an ultra-fast standard lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras with the Canon RF mount.
It is the fastest standard lens from Voigtländer for full-frame cameras, while a GA (ground aspherical) lens provides a tight, compact style.

Main Features

Designed exclusively for the Canon RF mount

Optics optimized for the image sensors *1 of mirrorless cameras with the Canon RF-mount are implemented. The lens has a full-frame image circle and can be used with both full-frame and APS-C size mirrorless cameras.

GA (ground aspherical) lens and mechanical components

The GA lens, produced in-house by us, is used as the primary element of the lens, while the mechanism is also equipped with a floating mechanism to ensure stable image quality from the shortest shooting distance to distant motifs.

Information communication with the body by electronic contacts

The lens is equipped with electronic contacts and realizes communications between the lens and the body. In addition to Exif information and in-body image stabilization (3-axis) *2, three types of focus support functions (magnification, peaking, and focus guide *3) are all supported.

Manual focus for reliable focus operation

Adopting a full-metal helicoid unit processed and adjusted with high precision and high-quality grease that produces an appropriate torque, focusing with a smooth operation feeling is realized. It enables fine focus adjustment.

12-blade aperture diaphragm for beautiful bokeh

The aperture diaphragm is configured with 12 blades to make the aperture opening as circular as possible. This means the out-of-focus areas of images are drawn naturally and point light sources etc. are drawn as soft round bokeh rather than as polygonal shapes.

Aperture click-stop switching mechanism

The aperture ring has a click-switching mechanism that allows the aperture to be opened and closed steplessly without being affected by the click, for example, when shooting video or adjusting fine focusing depth.

*1 Magenta coverage may occur on the periphery of the image with EOS R, RP and R6 depending on shooting conditions.
*2 Effective only with bodies equipped with in-body image stabilization.
*3 Excluding EOS RP.
