NOKTON classic 35mm F1.4

Classic lenses made with modern technology

Features

The NOKTON Classic 35mm F1.4 RF-mount is a large-aperture, compact wide-angle lens that revives the charm of classic lenses by refining them with the latest optical technology. By intentionally retaining some spherical aberration, it produces a natural, smooth bokeh at wide-open apertures that creates a sense of depth, allowing you to enjoy soft and delicate rendering.

Main Features

Designed exclusively for the Canon RF mount

Optics optimized for the image sensors of mirrorless cameras with the Canon RF-mount are implemented. The lens has a full-frame image circle and can be used with both full-frame and APS-C size mirrorless cameras.

Information communication with the body by electronic contacts

The lens is equipped with electronic contacts and realizes communications between the lens and the body. In addition to Exif information and in-body image stabilization (3-axis) *1, three types of focus support functions (magnification, peaking, and focus guide *2) are all supported.

Manual focus for reliable focus operation

Adopting a full-metal helicoid unit processed and adjusted with high precision and high-quality grease that produces an appropriate torque, focusing with a smooth operation feeling is realized. It enables fine focus adjustment.

Symmetrical optical configuration

This lens achieves its compact size and large F1.4 maximum aperture through the combination of a traditional symmetrical optical configuration and the latest optical materials (ultra-high refractive index glass).

Imaging controlled by aperture setting

This lens reproduces the characteristic imaging of a classic lens. At maximum aperture, the gentle and smooth bokeh gives images a sense of three-dimensionality. And when the aperture is stopped down, images are very sharp, making diverse photographic expressions possible with this one lens.

Beautiful bokeh effect with 10 aperture blades

A 10-element aperture is used to make the opening formed by the diaphragm blades closer to a circular shape. Out-of-focus areas are rendered naturally, and point light sources are rendered with a soft, rounded bokeh effect.

*1 Effective only with bodies equipped with in-body image stabilization.
*2 Excluding EOS RP
