NOKTON 50mm F1.2

Compact medium telephoto lens with large aperture.

Features

The NOKTON 50mm F1.2 X Mount is a fast manual focus medium telephoto lens that covers the APS-C size image circle. It has an angle of view equivalent to 75mm in full-frame. The lens construction is based on a Sonnar type formula with asymmetrical front and rear groups and offers a large F1.2 aperture. The lens is compact in size with an overall length of 49.0 mm and a weight of 290 g, making it easy to handle while employing spherical elements and an extension system. The lens produces a large bokeh effect when wide open, and sharp descriptive resolution when the aperture is stopped down allowing the photographer to enjoy a variety of photographic expression through aperture control.

Main Features

Dedicated to the FUJIFILM X mount

Designed exclusively for the FUJIFILM X mount. Optics are optimized for the image sensor of the FUJIFILM X system cameras. This prevents distortion, light reduction, and color casts on the periphery of the image without relying on the camera's optical correction function.

Electronic Contacts for Information Communication with the Body

The electronic contact enables highly reliable electrical communication between the lens and the camera body. By combining a communication-compatible body and the latest firmware (*1), Exif information, focus check, and shooting distance-linked display are supported, as well as in-body image stabilization and parallax correction for certain models.

Manual focus for reliable focusing

The use of an all-metal helicoid unit machined and adjusted to a high degree of precision and high-quality lubricants which produce moderate torque ensure smooth focusing operation. Subtle focusing adjustment is possible.

12-blade aperture diaphragm for beautiful bokeh

The aperture diaphragm is configured with 12 blades to make the aperture opening as circular as possible. This means the out-of-focus areas of images are drawn naturally and point light sources etc. are drawn as soft round bokeh rather than as polygonal shapes.

Directly operated mechanical aperture ring

Like the VM mount and mirrorless mount Voigtländer lenses, the lens employs an aperture ring mechanism that directly opens and closes the aperture. The mechanism has 1/3 stop clicks so you can directly enjoy the feeling of operating it.

MOD 0.39m

Minimum Object Distance by extension system is 0.39m. The close-up effect produces an even greater bokeh effect than when shooting distant scenery, expanding the possibilities for photography that takes advantage of the bokeh effect when the lens is wide open.

*2 It is recommended that the depth-of-field display be changed to the film standard (the same value as the depth scale engraved on the product) in the body settings.
*3 Please use the latest firmware as it may not perform as well as the listed firmware or may have limitations in some of the functions. Please check the firmware of the camera body you are using and refer to the body manual to obtain the latest firmware.
*4 When using the X-T2, the aperture value can be displayed in Fno by changing the aperture value display setting from TNo to FNo in the body settings.
*5 When using a camera that does not support electronic communicatiosn, change the "Release without lens" setting to "Permitted" in the body settings.
